Aisle Types
Lift trucks are classified due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn in the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to consider with different units.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks could work in less than 6 feet areas, whilst several would use specific guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel in the aisles. Some various models of VNA trucks comprise Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are common kinds in tight retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks could work within aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Usually these are stand-up units like for example Reach Trucks. They are often used in warehouses and storage facilities.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work in aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to lessen operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is very big and has an 8" low step height which helps reduce overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat as well as a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and hence more effective while limiting exhaustion.
