Forklift Tire Specs
Forklifts have been an essential device in commercial businesses and industry ever since 1917. During its history the forklift has changed through different forms, from a tractor with a platform attachment to a specialized high-tech equipment. Forklift tires have also changed into specialized tires, with different kinds designed to meet specific applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is made of solid polyurethane or rubber and is best for indoor work on smooth surfaces. The tread of a cushion tire is bonded or pressed onto the tire's steel ring. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for different load capacities. Cushion tires are normally utilized within warehouse settings.
Pneumatic Tires
Air or foam is used to fill pneumatic forklift tires. They are offered in two kinds: radial or bias. Depending upon the application, they are offered with various sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Foam-filled pneumatic forklift tires are less susceptible to punctures and maintain constant pressures. Pneumatic tires are normally used outdoors on rough, uneven surfaces.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
The comfortable ride which pneumatic tires offer along with the puncture resistance that solid tires provide are the combined features of Solid Pneumatic Hybrid Tires. They are an option to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Used on wheel loader forklifts are big rubber tires which could either be foam, solid or pneumatic. These tires are best for moving and loading heavy things onto trucks or into processing machines. Big flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts usually used at auto recyclers, lumberyards and construction sites.
