Used Jungheinrich LP Forklift San Diego

Forklift trucks are important pieces of machines utilized widely in business, especially within warehouses, distribution centers, industrial and storage handling facilities. A forklift truck is constructed of hundreds of components, such as the carriage, the cab, the power source, the engine and the wheels. Forklifts normally have different types of attachments too. The following are several of the most important forklift parts.

Engine of the Lift Truck - At the rear of the equipment, the lift truck has its power source. The different kinds of engine on the forklift will require varying power sources. For instance, a forklift with an internal combustion engine could have as its power source any of the following: gasoline, diesel, LP gas or CNG gas. Electric motor lift trucks receive their power from a battery or fuel cells.

Frame of The Truck - the base of the forklift truck and the most important of all the forklift components is the frame of the truck. This forms the core of the equipment. All other parts of a forklift are connected to the base, like for example the wheels, axles, mast overhead guard and counterweight. Hydraulic fluid and fuel tanks can also be part of the frame assembly.

Counterweight Forklift Components - the counterweight is what allows the machinery to be balanced while lifting heavy loads. This part is made of heavy cast iron and is connected to the backend of the lift truck. The counterbalance balances the truck frame to prevent it from tipping over when a load is being lifted or carried on the front. The heavy lead-acid battery in an electric forklift provides balance and could function as part of the counterweight.

The Cab Area - this part is where the operator sits and drives the machine. Several forklifts have a cab area that is open to the air and several have closed cabs. There are many parts situated in the cab for operating the forks. The cab has such essential components like for example the pedals, seats, levers, switches, operator controls and steering wheel. The dashboard contains operator readouts.
