Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries in 1966, after he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed a lot of clients and thus, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, since the demand for work lifts and platforms grew. Over time, when the demand for new machines to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into production with light towers, man-lifts, articulated booms, telehandlers and stick booms.
Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values because of the economic slump during the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history acquiring equipment manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
During the initial years after the sale, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, due to the name's solid reputation in the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in taking advice from and listening to their customers. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing outstanding support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machinery.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC equipment are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the machinery needs to be driven significant distances, such as in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the advantages of a 48V DC machinery with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Compared to any of the different types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer more horizontal reach overall. These machines are great for limited access places in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These equipment provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need in order to travel around the work site and job area.
