Classifications of Scissor Lifts & Aerial Lift Platforms
Scissor lifts and aerial platforms allow employees to work on elevated structures in a safe manner and enable them to get to things and structures. These platforms and lifts offer friendly user controls to maneuver the platform and the base separately. This allows the equipment to access things. There are many available lift designs which are suitable for particular settings and applications.
Scissor Lift
The scissor lift utilizes a series of crisscrossed linked steel arms. These arms are designed to create an X patterned support system when the lift is raised vertically. Workers utilize a large rectangle platform which is attached to the top of the lifting mechanism. There are support railings along the edges to provide added safety.
Scissor lifts are ideal for pavement, compact and hard dirt surfaces and concrete since they feature a low profile. These equipments utilize either a combustion engine or an electric motor to power the lift as well as the lifting device.
Rough Terrain Scissor Lift
The rough terrain scissor lift utilizes the same lifting technology as the regular scissor lift unit. The rough terrain model differs in that it features a specific base which is designed for uneven surfaces. The rough terrain even offers all terrain oversized tires and a higher ground clearance. These units provide lower lifting heights overall because of the higher center of gravity of the machine.
Telescopic Boom Lift
The telescopic boom lift provides a telescoping beam which rises diagonally and vertically. This machinery provides a small work platform outfitted with controls to operate the boom. The controls use a combustion or an IC engine in order to power the hydraulics and lift the boom.
Articulating Boom Lift
An articulating boom lift has two telescopic booms which are attached with a moving elbow. This lifting machine provides a bucket or a small working platform outfitted with hand controls that are utilized to control the boom. The articulating lift could reach on top buildings and over things.
